I know this is probably a loaded question but I could use some advice or insight. I’ve recently started weight lifting and am very excited to hopefully see some progress. However, I’m also eating at a calorie deficit because I want to lose fat.
I thought that would work fine (eating at a deficit while weight lifting) but now I’m seeing all these posts online saying that you need to eat X amount of protein to gain muscle and you cannot be in a caloric deficit at all to gain muscle and you need to have X amount of protein right after a workout… it’s enough to make my head spin.
Does anyone have some clear, legitimate advice to share, or has anyone had any luck losing fat while gaining muscle? I don’t want my workouts / this calorie deficit to have all been for nothing.
