I’m bulking (or at least attempting to atm 😳) and I’ve been finding cooking meals to be really time consuming for me. I usually make stir fries, soups/stews, and curries. It takes me like 2 hours to make dinner on average. This includes the time that I spend not working on the food directly but then the cleaning I do during waiting for it to finish and stuff.
I was really stressed out when I had a busier schedule. I was at a job 6-2:30 for a little while. My schedule was waking up at 4 am, drink a little smoothie, then drive to work at like 5 am. I would get a total of an hour and a half breaks/lunch at work. Arrive to the gym at like 3:30, work out for like an hour, get back home at almost 5. Spend the next 2+ hours cooking my dinner to be big enough to have left overs for lunch the next day, eating dinner, cleaning the kitchen, then showering and going to sleep at 8 pm (or attempting to, it was almost nearly impossible from how busy I was).
I have no idea how you guys with like 12 hr shifts can even manage going to the gym, cooking, bulking, etc. Those were some of the shittiest days I’ve ever had and exhausting despite only working 8 hrs a day.
Unfortunately making meals in advance could only take me so far. My parents use up a TON of our fridge/freezer leaving me with very little space in there to use.
