Stats: 205 lbs 35 year old male on a 5’11 frame
So over the course of my vegan journey, I have fluctuated from 50g to 180g of protein with not much noticeable difference. The last bulk I did to go from 182 to 205 lbs focused mainly on calories, but I know that I wasn’t getting .7g/lb during that time. I did feel that I repaired a series of injuries and build muscle mass.
That leads me to a series of questions:
1.) Is the calculation meant to be off of lean body mass and not total body mass?
2.) How do you determine where your protein needs really are? Is this just a shot in the dark using scientific literature (of varying degrees) to justify your protein levels?
