Lifting everyday as a beginner



Hey everyone, I am 350lbs and have been very inactive the last couple years. I had lost 80lbs but gained it all back plus more. I didn’t realize that I had gained this back but I’m back to eating healthy and I’m incorporating some strength training into my daily routine because not moving much the past year has made me noticeable weaker.

My question is this, could one generally do some type of body weight exercise every day throughout the day considering that they are otherwise sedentary?

The exercises I’ve been doing are:

  • 50 push-ups against a wall (unable to do a regular push-up)
  • 50 body weight squats
  • 50 resistance band flys
  • 50 standing crunches
  • 60 second plank

I have an Olympic bar that is 45lbs (20kg) and with that I do the following:

  • 9 bicep curls
  • 9 overhead presses
  • 9 bent over rows
  • 9 dead lifts

And I do about 10 minutes on a recumbent bike.
