Recovery from workouts : veganfitness

I am a 49 year old female and do CrossFit 4x a week. I have been vegan for 5 years. I feel that I do not recover as well as I used to in recent months and have a lot of aches and pains in general. Of course my first thought is age, but one of my coaches has mentioned nutrition as the culprit and possibly a lack of some fatty acids only found in meat? Just looking for thoughts/suggestions from other vegans. Thanks.
