Cruelty-Free and Vegan
Perhaps you have seen the words cruelty free on many makeup products or even medicines. Many people confuse vegan products with cruelty-free products. Cruelty-free products are those who have not been tested or experimented on animals, but there is no surety about it not having any animal products. However, vegan products are not made using any animal products in their formation, as well as they do not use animal fur, hair, etc. when it comes to the makeup brushes. Remember that a product can be vegan and not cruelty-free and vice versa.
What Is Vegan Makeup?
Vegan beauty has gained a lot of hype in recent years. More people are shifting towards organic and vegan beauty products. Now one might pose a question what does vegan makeup mean? The beauty products and makeup are made completely from plant-based products with no harm to animals whatsoever. What Is A Vegan Lifestyle?
If you are a beginner and you are moving towards a vegan lifestyle, there a few things that you need to keep in mind. They will help you live your best vegan life. If you are thinking of transitioning from a non-vegan to vegan lifestyle, do not overwhelm yourself with the process. Remember habits are not always easy to break, and when one has been accustomed to doing things a certain way making changes does not come overnight.
So, brace yourself, and take it day by day. You do not have to get rid of everything that you own, just commit going forward to change. Be mindful as to what you put into your body, what you eat, drink, what you wear, and what you are putting on your skin. The way that I first started my vegan lifestyle was with food, and I promise you that I never went back to eating meat again.
The first start of a vegan lifestyle I would say is to focus on your health. I would start by eliminating meat at least a couple of times a week from your meals and replacing it with a plant-based option. There are several options to choose from, you will not regret it, and neither will your body.
If you had been only relying on meat for your diet, then first start by incorporating vegetables into your diet. After that, begin removing meat from your diet. Now slowly transition from eggs and dairy to egg replacers and plant-based milk and cheese. Don’t let your cravings get the best of you. For such cravings, keep vegan snacks handy whenever you get the urge for something tasty. After that, you can move onto removing daily life items that have animal-based products in them or made from them.
A vegan diet is the first step in veganism for many people and there happen to be several vegan diets to select from. Some of them are as followed:
- The whole food vegan diet contains vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and legumes.
- Raw food vegan diet includes all of the food items in the whole food vegan diet, but they are cooked below 48 degrees Celsius.
- The starch solution is low on fat and high on carbs vegan diet that contains starch from potatoes, rice, and corn instead of fruit.
- 80/10/10 diet is a vegan diet that restricts fat-rich plants such as nuts and avocados and depends on raw fruits and soft green vegetables.
Vegan clothing is made up of fabrics that are artificial plant-based leather, linen, hemp, soybeans, bamboo, and others that can be used in place of animal products.
Benefits of Vegan Lifestyle
A vegan lifestyle is a healthy lifestyle. One that helps you to stay looking and feeling your best at any age. And, the following are three benefits of being vegan:
